Snuggy

What happens if you do not check in

Nothing dramatic, and nothing at once. Snuggy is built so that a forgotten tap does not frighten your family.

1. You pick a time

Nine in the morning, or whenever suits you. Snuggy reminds you before it is due, and again if you forget.

2. If you miss it, your own phone rings

Before anybody else is troubled. Most missed check-ins are simply a forgotten tap, and this is the step that keeps the whole thing from crying wolf.

3. Then the person you chose is told

If you still have not checked in, your contact gets an email — and, with the subscription, a text message and a phone call as well. They are asked to look in on you. Only that one person is told. Nobody else, ever.

The red SOS button

There is also a button for right now, without waiting for a missed check-in. It opens 911 on your phone — you press call yourself, because no app should be able to dial an emergency line from a pocket — and it alerts your contact at the same time.

Notes for whoever comes

Your medication, where the spare key is, how to look after the cat. The things an ambulance crew or a neighbour would otherwise have to guess.
